Philadelphia Eagles vs. Los Angeles Rams Matchup Breakdown For Fantasy Football Week 4
John Laghezza breaks down the Week 4 game between the Eagles and Rams for fantasy football.
I really thought I’d be more excited to watch these two offenses coming into 2026 than I am. Combine missing superstars with sudden questions surrounding new OC Sean Mannion’s instant impact, and you can see why this game total’s been tanking.

Los Angeles Rams Fantasy Preview
A hallmark of a great team is an ability to thrive in the face of adversity, making this game a major inflection point for the Rams. Blame wonky travel plans (Week 1 vs SF) or ticky-tack pass interference calls (Week 3 at DEN) all you’d like, it won’t change a thing. Bottom line? A loss Sunday could derail championship hopes for a preseason favorite to win it all.
According to the Orange County Register, HC Sean McVay said they’re “hopeful” alpha WR Puka Nacua will return, though that still wouldn’t leave them at full strength. Los Angeles, known for rostering more TEs than they know what to do with, lost both Colby Parkinson (AC sprain; day-to-day) and Terrance Ferguson (doubtful; medial ankle sprain) on Sunday night.
Injury pessimists and TE streamers alike should circle Tyler Higbee, who stepped into the featured role so many drafters were chasing with late-round picks. Running ~80% of pass routes, Higbee earned a ridiculous 11 targets off the bench in a huge game (8-62-1). He should be rostered for ceiling potential in a strong environment alone, though everyone’s due for a workload reduction the second Nacua’s suited back up.
For all intents and purposes, Matthew Stafford’s playing some of his worst ball in recent memory, yet still scoring over 17 fantasy points/game. Nevertheless, as confident as I’ll remain in his rest-of-season projections, the Eagles’ secondary never makes it easy — Philly’s allowed the fourth-fewest completions, and I refuse to look past the trio of Riq Woolen, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean.
If anything, now’s the time to scoop Stafford off waivers where available while demand’s low with the Bills and Cardinals coming up (oh baby).
Lastly, no news is good news for Kyren Williams drafters. Despite looking clearly less explosive to me than counterpart Blake Corum — it’s Kyren’s world, and we’re just living in it. Anticipation by Corum supporters for the consolidated workload we saw down the stretch is all but extinguished. Blake Corum must be 100% rostered as perhaps the best contingency handcuff in the game, but there’s not enough volume weekly to start.
- Start: Kyren Williams (RB17), Puka Nacua (WR12), Tyler Higbee (TE25)
- Sit: Davante Adams (WR15)
- Sleeper: Matthew Stafford (QB15)
Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Preview
I don’t know about you, but I’m already forming the first draft of my apology letter to former OC Kevin Patullo. And no, it’s not to tell him he did a great job, so much as to not blame him singularly for the Eagles’ offensive woes. Three weeks into the season and neither Eagles drafters nor fans got what they bargained for.
Jalen Hurts is fantasy’s QB10, though you’d hardly realize it watching back his play. Accuracy issues (14.5% off-target), an inability to properly lead receivers (34.3% QB-YAC), and untimely picks in the red zone are leaving many of us with dyed-green clumps of hair on the floor. Without proper giddy-up in the offense (57.3 plays/game, 8.0 avg seconds left on the play clock), it’s going to be difficult to turn things around for so many different players.
It’s hard to avoid starting any of the three Philadelphia wideouts since they’re soaking up +94% of all team WR targets. I get it. However, being nervous only feels natural given they’ve produced just a single top-20 weekly finish against significantly softer competition (Smith, Week 2; 10-117-1).
If PHI can’t truck the Commanders, Titans, or Bears, why would we show any degree of confidence in running circles around the Rams? With Trent McDuffie plus Quentin Lake patrolling deep, LA's easily a top-ranked secondary (56% completion, 74.7 passer rating, 5.2 yards/pass attempt), even with CB Jaylen Watson down (dislocated shoulder).
UPDATE: Word just hit the wire that DeVonta Smith’s hamstring will keep him out of Sunday’s contest. Big subsequent bump for Dontayvion Wicks and Makai Lemon in an ascended role.
Over the years, whenever all else fails, Philadelphia’s turned to old reliable, Saquon Barkley. Still waiting for his first top-15 finish (?!), Barkley's long overdue for a breakout. Consider this a PSA. Please ignore anyone citing Will Shipley’s team-leading snap rate as a bearish indicator for Barkley, who’s commanded +80% of all backfield opportunities in both healthy games. I fully expect the Eagles to try to slow the game flow down by loading up Saquon with opportunities to keep Stafford and Co. off the field.
- Start: Jalen Hurts (QB7), Saquon Barkley (RB17), Dontayvion Wicks (WR39)
- Sit: Makai Lemon (WR61)
- Sleeper: Zach Ertz (TE35)
Next Week's Bold Headline, Today
Credit the sharpest market in the world for pushing this total down steadily all week, though apparently not far enough. Puka returns to action, but it’s defense that wins the day for Los Angeles, evening each team’s record out at .500.
